Henna After Care

Now that you have received your gorgeous henna design we want to make sure that its color intensifies and lasts as long as possible. Here are some pointers:

  • Allow the henna paste to dry for at least 20 minutes (or as your henna artist has instructed). The henna should be left on for at least 2 hours or more. WARNING: Henna stains clothes permanently.
  • Allow the henna paste to dry for at least 20 minutes (or as your henna artist has instructed). The henna should be left on for at least 2 hours or more. WARNING: Henna stains clothes permanently.
  • Once the henna has dried it will start to crack and flake off. Remember: the longer you leave it on, the darker the stain will turn out.
  • The henna design will appear as a bright orange stain and will darken to a beautiful brownish red color over the next 24 – 48 hours. The intensity of the stain will depend on the care and skin type.
  • If you must, when removing the henna NEVER USE WATER. Once dry, use your hands to scrape off the henna. Try not to scrub or wash the henna applied area for the first 24 – 48 hours while the stain is still developing.
  • Try and keep your skin moisturized by using natural products such as olive oil or cocoa butter. Stay away from lotions with Hydroxy Acids (fruity acids) or bleaching agents. This will cause the stain to lighten on the skin.
